Short explanation:

Kinou wa nanimo tabemasen deshita.
I didn't eat anything yesterday.
彼はなにも話しません。
Kare wa nanimo hanashimasen.

この部屋ではなにも見えません。
Kono heya de wa nanimo miemasen.
I cannot see anything in this room.
