Formation:

Sentence A + ただ + Sentence B

Examples:

彼は頭がいい。ただ、努力はあまりしない。
Kare wa atama ga ii. Tada, doryoku wa amari shinai.
He is smart; however, he doesn't make much effort.
外は雨が降っている。ただ、家にいると暇だ。
Soto wa ame ga futte iru. Tada, ie ni iru to hima da.
It's raining outside, but I'm bored at home.
そのレストランは値段が高い。ただ、サービスが良い。
Sono resutoran wa nedan ga takai. Tada, saabisu ga yoi.
That restaurant is expensive; however, the service is good.
テストの結果は良くなかった。ただ、やり直すチャンスがある。
Tesuto no kekka wa yokunakatta. Tada, yarinaosu chansu ga aru.
