Short explanation:

Used to emphasize that it is precisely because of something, that another statement is true.

Formation:

Noun + こそ + Sentence + が

Examples:

初めてこそたいせつだが、諦めないことが一番大切だ。
Hajimete koso taisetsu da ga, akiramenai koto ga ichiban taisetsu da.
The first step is important, of course, but what's most crucial is that you don't give up.
彼こそ親友だが、隠し事はしない方がいいと思う。
Kare koso shinyuu da ga, kakushigoto wa shinai hou ga ii to omou.
It is exactly because he is my best friend, I think it's better not to keep secrets.
あなたこそ家族がそばにいるが、孤独を感じることはあるだろう。
Anata koso kazoku ga soba ni iru ga, kodoku wo kanjiru koto wa aru darou.
It is precisely because you have your family near you, you might still feel lonely.
子どもたちこそ未来だが、今を大切にしなければならない。

The こそ~が structure is used to emphasize the fact that it is because of the noun before こそ, that the statement following ~が is valid. It might often be translated into English as 'it is precisely because', 'it is just because', 'it is exactly because'.
