Formation:

Examples:

私は本を読みます。
Watashi wa hon wo yomimasu.
I read a book.
彼はケーキを食べました。
Kare wa keeki wo tabemashita.
He ate a cake.
母はコーヒーを飲むのが好きです。
Haha wa koohii wo nomu no ga suki desu.
My mother likes to drink coffee.
友達が私のペンを使いました。
Tomodachi ga watashi no pen wo tsukaimashita.
My friend used my pen.

Long explanation:

The を (wo) particle is used to mark the direct object of a verb in a sentence. It shows the noun that the action (verb) is performed on. The particle を is usually pronounced as 'o' while speaking.
