Long explanation:

从来 (cónglái) is a Mandarin Chinese adverb that can be used to express the English concept of 'always' or 'at all times', indicating a situation or event has been true from the past until now. It is often used in conjunction with 不 or 没 (before the verb) to express 'never'. Conversely without 不 or 没, '从来' suggests that something 'always' happens.
